Ocean and Light — Hospitality, Retreats, Vacation Rentals

About

Hi, I'm Mariluz.

I built Ocean and Light around something I've learned over more than two decades in hospitality: the smallest details often shape the biggest part of the guest experience.

Warm, thoughtfully prepared hospitality interior

20+ years

Hospitality experience behind every project.

Hospitality With Intention

Beautiful is important. Thoughtful is what makes it work.

I'm the founder of Ocean and Light. My background spans hospitality, customer service, reservations, operations, leadership, training, and the behind-the-scenes problem solving that keeps a guest experience moving.

Ocean and Light grew from bringing those skills into vacation rentals, retreats, and small businesses—helping owners organize properties, improve communication, create guest resources, build websites, and turn scattered ideas into practical systems.

I don't look at a website, a guest guide, or an operating process as a separate piece. I look at how it connects to the experience as a whole: what a guest sees first, what they need next, what the owner needs behind the scenes, and how to make the entire process feel clearer and more intentional.

That's the heart of Ocean and Light: thoughtful hospitality, clear systems, and details that feel cared for.

What I bring to the work

Hospitality experience, translated into practical support.

Hospitality & Operations

More than 20 years of experience across guest service, reservations, operations, leadership, training, and customer care.

Guest Experience

Thoughtful communication, welcome materials, property information, and systems designed around what guests actually need.

Digital Design & Systems

Websites, landing pages, guest guides, operational documents, and simple digital workflows that make the business easier to run.

The approach

Listen first. Build what is useful. Make it feel cared for.

Every property, retreat, and small business works a little differently. The goal is not to force a standard package onto it, but to understand what is needed and create something beautiful, organized, and genuinely useful.
